Theresa A. Pattavina's Obituary
On Friday, March 24, 2023, Theresa Pattavina, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away to rest in peace with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on January 9, 1939 in Lawrence, MA, and graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1956. After graduation, she went to work at Greico Brothers suit factory where she was quickly promoted to the front office. She married Charles Pattavina and raised three daughters while helping manage the family restaurant Pattavina’s in the Methuen Mall.
Theresa was heavily involved in politics and was the president of the League of Women Voters. Her many other contributions to her community and church include the Methuen Scholarship Committee, Blue Bird and Campfire girl leader, PTA volunteer, and religious education instructor. She spent many hours sharing her beautiful calligraphy artwork for wedding invitations and church notices. Terry was a talented artist, designer, and chef. She made beautiful clothing, crafts, curtains, afghans, and dance costumes. Preparing Sunday dinners and Holiday meals gave her great joy. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family who she was devoted to. She was a longtime fan of all Boston sports team, especially the Boston Red Sox. She also enjoyed attending her granddaughters dance competitions, Broadway Shows, and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles Pattavina; and sister, Frances Piccirillo.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Ann Marie Pattavina-Sullivan and her husband Edward Sullivan of Andover, Karla Bradley and her husband, Sean of Methuen, and Jill Fitzpatrick and her husband, James X. of Methuen; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Shauna Bradley, Joseph and Charles (CJ) Fitzpatrick, and Kevin and Kylie Hern, and Amy Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at St. Lucy Parish, 254 Merrimack Street in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 29th at 11:00AM, following the callings hours. At the request of the family, burial will be private.
