Ruth (Rogers) Moore's Obituary
Ruth (Rogers) Moore, age of 98, of Methuen, beloved wife of the late Guy T. Moore, Sr and devoted mother of Janis Margaret Moore and Guy T. Moore Jr., passed peacefully December 23, 2022 at the Prescott House of North Andover,
Massachusetts.
Born in Lawrence, she was a graduate of Lawrence High School where she graduated with Distinction, and a graduate of the McIntosh Business School. She was an attendant of St. Monica's Church of Methuen.
After graduating from high school, she worked as Secretary to the Vice President of Treat Hardware Corporation. Then she worked as Secretary-Receptionist at
Champion International Paper Company, and as an Inventory Control Operator at Raytheon in Andover, Massachusetts where she retired in 1984.
In her earlier years, she was a well-known singer who participated in local minstral shows, Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas, and a soloist at many church functions. She met her best friend of 92 years, Anna Ruth (Abate) Sullivan of Lawrence, in kindergarten.
She enjoyed singing, music, gardening, cooking, and most of all, her beloved family.
She is survived by her daughter Janis Moore of Vermont, Guy T. Moore Jr. of Burlington, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours on Thursday, Dec. 29th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Kenneth Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 30th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, 130 N Lowell St, Methuen. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to Saint Monica's Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA 01844, First Calvary Baptist Church, 586 Massachusetts Ave, North Andover, MA 01845, or the Prescott House's Activities_Fund, 140 Prescott St, North Andover, MA 01845.
