Richard J. Nicosia's Obituary
Richard J. Nicosia, 84, of Methuen passed away on May 9, 2021 at the High Pointe House in Haverhill. He was born in Lawrence on July 27, 1936 to the late Frank and Antoinette (Piazza) Nicosia. Richard was raised in North Andover and graduated from Johnson High School with the Class of 1955. Following high school, he answered the call to service and honorably served his country in the US Army. After his discharge, Richard worked as a new design analyst for Lucent Technologies for 44 years until his retirement. A devout lifelong Catholic, he was a long time communicant at St. Monica’s Parish of Methuen. As a man who was never shy on words, Richard enjoyed living life to its fullest; traveling, attending shows, dining with friends and trying his hand at the casino. He touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved, cherished and missed by all.
Richard is survived by his dear sister Yolanda Potter of California, many nieces and nephews and his two close friends: Mike Dumont of Rochester, NH and Carlene Jop of Tewksbury. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Natalie Nicosia, Sam Nicosia, Joseph Nicosia, Franklin Nicosia, Mary Reardon, Anthony Nicosia, Charles Nicosia and Annette Mangiafico.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours, beginning promptly at 12:00 Noon.
