Patricia Jankowski-Abbott's Obituary
Methuen – Patricia Jankowski-Abbott, 69 of Methuen, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Daniel P. Abbott, to whom she was married for 17 years.
Patricia was born in Lawrence, MA on July 27, 1952, the daughter of the late Mitchel and Genefa (Sinkiewicz) Jankowski. She held a degree in graphic design.
Pat was a woman of multiple talents and interests. Her creativity and eye for design allowed her to work in a variety of fields. She was Florist, working at Johnson's florist for many years, a paraprofessional teacher at various charter schools. She then taught art at the Middleton House of Correction. She worked as a kitchen designer at Home Depot and at Lowe’s. She was an integral part of beginning of the Essex Art Center in Lawrence. Pat also worked at Café Azteca in Lawrence and at the Green Bean in Exeter, NH.
She was a free spirit, a pippy long stocking, and challenged all the rules...but that's what made her extraordinary. Her passions included the Sarcoma Foundation of America, the MSPCA, interior design, floral design, fashion, music, animals, attending various plays and concerts, traveling to Boston, spending time at the beach, and especially more than anything spending time with her family. Her devotion to her friends and family was unparalleled and felt by all she loved.
Pat will be deeply missed by her husband, Dan, her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Jankowski her brother, Mitchell Jankowski, Jr., Nieces and Nephews Denise, Michael, Steve, Tim and Lori; her sister-in-law, Donna Jankowski of Cape Coral, FL, Nephew and Niece Adam, and Amanda; Pat’s husband, Dan’s 2 children, Dan Abbott, Jr. and his wife, Shana, and Laura Rose and her husband, Chris, her 3 grandchildren, Alexis, Daniel, and Henry; and her many grandnieces and grandnephews, great grandniece and great grandnephews.
She is predeceased by her son, Jesse Jankowski, who was the light of her life; her infant sister, Virginia; her brother, Thomas Jankowski; and her sister-in-law, Patricia.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Pat’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 1 – 4 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will be celebrated on Sunday at 4 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
