Lois E (Finn) Buotte's Obituary
Lois E. (Finn) Buotte, age 88 of North Andover and formerly of Salem, NH and Lawrence passed away on February 6, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Mary Evelyn (Purcell) Finn and the sister of the late Charles E. “Chuck” Finn. Lois was born and raised in Lawrence. She attended the Bruce Grammar School, graduated from Lawrence High School in 1949 and the McIntosh Business School in 1950. She began her career as a legal secretary, then worked part-time in Macartney’s credit office while raising her children. Later, she was employed as a secretary in the Methuen Public Schools for thirty years where she retired as secretary to the superintendent in 2006. Lois was a member of the Methuen Public School System Retiree’s Association. After her retirement, Lois volunteered in the surgical day care unit of the Lawrence General Hospital for many years.
Lois is the widow of Joseph R. “Roger” Buotte, who passed away in 1992. She is survived by her son, Michael T. Buotte and his wife Meg of Andover, daughters Maureen A. Buotte and her partner Lisa Steen of Reading, and Christine M. Adams and her husband James M. of Andover; six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Kathleen and Lauren Adams, and Jack and Sarah Buotte all of Andover, an aunt, Mrs. Harold (Eileen) Sullivan of Andover; several cousins; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Richard (Joan) Greeley of Derry, NH.
In her leisure time, Lois enjoyed reading, playing 45’s, and traveling. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren and particularly enjoyed playing cards with them and attending various sports activities in which her grandchildren participated.
Friends and guest are invited to call on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Augustine’s Chapel, 128 Ames St. Lawrence.
