John J. Zenevitch's Obituary
John J. Zenevitch, 89, of Methuen, passed away on October 4, 2018 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing & Restorative Center in Lawrence surrounded by his beloved family. Born on November 1, 1928 to the late Jacob and Anele (Milanauskas) Zenevitch, he was raised and educated in Lawrence graduating with the Class of 1946 from Lawrence High School. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served for two years. John worked for many years as a manager for McCartney’s in Andover until his retirement, after retirement he worked for the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home. A devout lifelong Catholic, he was a communicant for Our Lady of Good Counsel / St. Theresa’s Parish. John lived a simple and humble life providing for his family and volunteering fulfilling hours for Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and playing solitaire. John touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved, cherished, and missed.
John is survived by his four devoted children; his daughter, Ann Cheryl Oakleaf of Apple Valley, CA, his daughter, Ellen Francis of Methuen, his son, Jay Zenevitch and his wife Sandra of Reading, and his son, Mark Zenevitch and his wife Sharon “Karen” of Worcester. He was the proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren; Robert, Kelly, Valerie, John, Ryan, Daniel and Liz. John was also the great-grandfather to Jonathon, Kyle, Ryan, Cheyenne, Alison, Silas and Emerson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his sister-in-law Marilyn Zenevitch. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Millicent (Bailey) Zenevitch, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage, his brother Bernard Zenevitch and his four other siblings.
Visitation for John will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel / St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen.
