Gaetano "Guy" Distefano's Obituary
Guy Distefano of Methuen passed away with his love Rachida and his loving son Marcus by his side of October 27, 2021. Guy was born in Biancavilla, Sicily to the late Andrea Distefano and Rosa (Zappala) Distefano on March 2, 1951. As a young boy, Guy traveled to Germany and returned back to Sicily. At the young age of 16, Guy came to the United States and throughout his life, he fulfilled the “American Dream”, and in the end, Guy did it his way. Guy was a true entrepreneur in every sense of the word, he owned and operated Nu Salon and Gaetano’s Restaurant. His longtime friend and mentor Joe Faro Sr. guided Guy through many successful business ventures.
Guy enjoyed playing soccer and was an avid fan. He especially enjoyed following and rooting for his beloved A.C. Milan soccer team. Guy also enjoyed playing poker and 45’s. Guy’s friends made his world complete. Spending time with his family made him the happiest.
Guy was the devoted father of Guy-Andrew Distefano, Marcus Distefano, and Kristina Harris and her husband Ryan. He was the dear brother of Antonio Distefano and his wife Maria, Josephine Carace, Maria Glorioso and her husband Carmelo, Grace Grady and her husband Jerry, Aurora Johanson and her husband Bert, and the late Salvatore Distefano. He was the loving grandfather of Nolan Harris and Jackson Harris. Guy was the longtime companion of Rachida Joubeir. Special to Guy’s life, were Rachida’s children Omar Armani and Salah Armani.
Friends and guests are invited to call on November 1, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours, beginning promptly at 11:00 AM. Deacon John Pierce to officiate. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
