I'm so glad I had a chance to know Ernie. Even tho not that well but I knew him enough to know how good he was to his mother, Irene and that he was just an all round good guy.. I'm sending sympathy, love and prayers to all those who loved him and were loved in return...especially to the Burdins and t to Janice(Janny) the love of his life.
with love and prayers,

Ernie was the light of my life and the best thing that ever happened to me. We met on Thanksgiving weekend in year 2002.
Ernie loved to talk on the phone. The first time he called me we talked for 3 and a half hours!! Yes, that's right. We always tried to see who could get the next word in! We always had so much to say to each other. We spent so much time together ....almost 20 years. His favorite thing to do was to go out to a restaurant. After we ate, he'd take me for a nice leisurely ride. Many times he'd take his mom with us. She loved to go with us. Somehow we always ended up at the fishing areas in the various towns where Ernie used to fish at with his dad.
He was always telling me all about his fishing experiences. His mom, Irene, and I would love to hear him go back in time and just re-live years gone by with his dad.
Ernie was an excellent father figure to my 3 children. He was so good to them, always remembered them during birthdays and Christmas. They truly loved and appreciated him so very much. My grandson actually said to his mom when he heard that Ernie passed,
"Who is gonna buy me Cheez-its and Cheerios at Christmas time?" which Ricky loved, and, which were little extra surprise gifts (just like a stocking stuffer). My grandson loved calling him Grampy.
Ernie, my sweetheart, rest in peace with Mom and Dad Naylor. I will love you forever. LOVE, JANNY (Janice Allen)
Family gatherings won't be the same without Ernie, but I am thankful for having known him for 20 years. He was like a brother to me and always had something funny to say to make me laugh. I will never forget the time I went Christmas shopping with Ernie and Janice and then we rode around in Ernie's truck at night singing Christmas Carols and looking at all the Christmas lights. Rest in Peace Ernie....thanks for everything. Love, Margie
As we age, we think back and remember the things we did growing up from time to time. Ernie was my best childhood friend. Although I am a couple of years younger, we walked to the school bus stop each day, learned how to ride bikes, ice skate, shoot BB guns, and build a treehouse together. Of course, I took my training wheels off after him, was rescued by him after falling through the ice, was prevented from shooting myself with the BB gun, and just assisted him in building the treehouse. No need to mention the time we bought a pack of cigarettes together.
And, I remember times at Sandy Pond and our independently executed plans of sneaking downstairs on Christmas Eve to see if there was a Santa Claus.
Rest in Peace, Ernie…….. thanks for the memories.

Ernie was a tremendous person. He took unbelievable care of his Mom, Irene, from the time his Dad passed until her death. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Bill Burdin
When we were kids we would look for Santa on Christmas Eve. We did Christmas Eve at my parents home. Sheila
