Emil J. Theriault's Obituary
Emil J. Theriault, 96, lifelong resident of Methuen, MA, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, surrounded by his family at Holy Family Hospital.
Born and raised in Methuen, he was the son of the late Alcide T. and Rose Alma (Belair) Theriault, and Emil was a graduate of Maryvale Seminary, Class of 1946.
Emil served in the military as a sergeant with the Army Corp of Engineers. He was a Korean War veteran and received medals of commendation. After coming back home from serving his country, he began working as a fleet superintendent for E.A. Wilson Company, where he continued for forty years. A devout Catholic, Emil was known for his strong faith. His family, as well as many others, benefited from the blessings received from his daily prayers and rosary. Emil was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he was one of the first coaches for Methuen youth hockey. He enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing in Florida.
Emil will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of seventy-three years, Marguerite G. (Besner) Theriault of Methuen, MA, daughters, Marie Windle of Methuen, and Carol Paraskos of Salem, NH, sons, Michael Theriault and his wife, Susan of Hampstead, NH, and, David Theriault of Methuen, daughter, Diane Mustapha and her husband, Brian of Hampstead, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Emil was predeceased by his brother, Albert Theriault, and sisters, Rita Desrosiers, Theresa Rupkey, and Doris Desrosiers.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to calling hours from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass for Emil will take place on Thursday, March 20, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen, MA. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, N. Lowell St., Methuen, MA.
