Cheryl Lee Walsh's Obituary
Cheryl Lee Walsh, age 70, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem, NH. Born on March 11, 1954, to the late Leo and Doris (Thibodeau) Walsh, Cheryl was a lifelong resident of the Merrimack Valley.
A proud graduate of St. Mary High School in Lawrence, class of 1971, Cheryl furthered her education at UMass Amherst, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, which included a transformative study abroad experience in England. She later obtained her MBA from Suffolk University. Throughout her professional life, Cheryl made her mark in public relations, primarily serving clients in the high-tech industry.
Cheryl had a profound love for travel, fashion, and cherished moments with family and friends. The heart of her life was her family, especially her beloved nieces and nephews, who affectionately referred to her as “Aunty.” Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She also was a member of St. Monica Parish in Methuen.
Those who were fortunate enough to spend time with Cheryl will remember her zest for life and the valuable lessons she imparted through her simple yet profound approach to living. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cheryl’s family would like to thank the staff of the Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Harborside Hospice for their caring attention to Cheryl’s needs toward the end of her life.
She leaves behind her first cousins, Sandy Gorgizian of Warwick, Rhode Island, Joyce Lekarcyk of Plymouth, Bruce A. MacDougall and his wife, Susan of North Andover, Brian MacDougall and his wife, Eileen of Wilmington, Kevin Lekarcyk and his wife, Krystyna of Derry, NH, and William L. Perry of Methuen. In addition, she leaves behind many extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Interment to follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. For directions or condolences please visit www.pollardfuneralhome.com.
