Alfons Wojtas' Obituary
Alfons Wojtas, 93, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Friday July 12, 2024, at the High Pointe House, in Haverhill, MA, with his loving and devoted family by his side.
Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Francis and Frances (Rosinski) Wojtas. After immigrating to America, Alfons and his wife of seventy-two years, Jeanne, began raising their family and Alfons began working at Holy Family Hospital as a fireman for many years.
Alfons was a faithful loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Alfons was a devoted Catholic and had a very special love for the blessed Virgin Mary. Alfons is known to family as Jaja not only by his family but by everyone who was blessed to know him. Jaja enjoyed his hobbies such as dancing to his polkas, racing homing pigeons, belonging to his pigeon club and raising honeybees. Honey was one of his great loves. Alfons loved family gatherings and to be around all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alfons will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeanne (Roberts) Wojtas, Children, Christine Jacinto and her husband, Dennis of Debary FL, Frank Wojtas and his wife, Caroline of Port Orange FL, Michael Wojtas and his wife, Lisa of Salem NH, Cathy Santantonio and her husband, Remo of Derry NH, Caroline Legros and her husband, Michael of Methuen MA, Peter Wojtas and his wife, Darlene of Deland FL. twenty-one Grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
Alfons was predeceased by his son, Alphonse Wojtas.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to calling hours from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, on Wednesday July 17, 2024, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. At 11:00 am A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA, followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 N. Lowell St., Methuen, MA
