Yvonne MacLean's Obituary
C. Yvonne (Duhamel) MacLean, 98, of Lawrence passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Born in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Carbonneau) Duhamel.
Mrs. MacLean was raised and educated in Methuen before spending a year of study at the Juvenate in Quebec City. Her first job was in the Pacific Mill, where she would meet her future husband, George. She also worked at St Ann’s Orphanage and eventually retired from Polo Clothing. She loved to play cards, especially Michigan Rummy and 45’s. and enjoyed her Sunday dinners with her family. In her younger years she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling, dancing and going to the Casino. Yvonne got her first computer at the age of 85 and enjoyed playing Slotomania with her children and grandchildren. Being surrounded by her family is what made her happiest. She also enjoyed volunteering at Mary Immaculate where she resided in independent living for over thirty-one years before recently moving to their nursing home.
Yvonne was predeceased by her beloved husband, George MacLean; her eleven siblings; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Anne.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Paplaskas and her son-in-law, Ray of Methuen; her son, George MacLean; three cherished grandchildren and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind a sister in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 8:30-10:15 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. At the request of the family, face mask are to be worn. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen. Burial will take place at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the MacLean Family.
