My life interacted often with Bishop McNaughton over many years: my first assignment as a priest St Augustine-Tower Hill 1971-75, Pastor at St. Augustine 1984-93, and pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel 2004-2008. He was always most gracious, appreciative and affirming. I thank God for his many and varied contributions to the Church.

Will miss his visits at my hair salon when he would bring his sister Ruth for her hair he would sit in the back room of the salon saying his prayers while I did Ruth's hair and will never forget him blessing my salon a super nice holy man Dennis martin

I can still recall going Golfing with Uncle Bill at Hickory Hill whenever he would come home for the summer. The teams were always Uncle Bill and I vs my brother Pete and my brother in-law Jim Sughrue. Uncle Bill was a good golfer mid to high 80's and super consistent off the Tee. We typically would win against my brother because of a higher force was always on our side and our golf balls would miraculously bounce off trees and end in the fairway. We would always finish by going over to his house in Methuen and have a few cold beverages by the Pool. He taught us humility and patience which we needed back then..........I will miss Uncle Bill dearly.
