Viseth Tan's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Viseth Tan, aged 76, on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Cedar View Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Methuen, MA. Born in Cambodia to the late Bunhorn and Su Chan, Viseth’s life was marked by quiet strength and unwavering dedication.
Viseth leaves behind his beloved family: his daughter Pisey Leavitt and her husband, David, of Methuen, MA; his son, Pisoth “Joey” Sar and his wife, Chanty Chau, of Lowell, MA; his daughter, Lisah “Pisak” Sar-Frederic and her husband, Kedar, of Methuen, MA; and his son, Visothona “Tony” Sar of Lawrence, MA. He is also survived by his cherished siblings, Mao Chan and his wife, Hoeub Thai, of East Boston, MA, and Noeurn Dom and her husband, Yoeurn Lim, of Revere, MA, as well as his former spouse, Vary Sam, of Methuen, MA. His legacy extends to many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who will miss him dearly.
Although Viseth was a man of few words and reserved in his expressions, his actions spoke volumes about his character. His unwavering commitment to caring for his disabled sister in California was a testament to his profound sense of responsibility and compassion. Through the quiet, everyday moments, he demonstrated a remarkable strength and dedication that profoundly touched those around him.
Viseth found solace in the simplicity of life’s routines and found joy in the small, everyday moments that often go unnoticed. His modest presence and unspoken depth of character left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, and 9:00 am, Thursday, September 19, 2024. A Buddhist funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Arborside Crematory, 38 Range Rd., Windham, NH. Gathering at Funeral Home to form a procession to crematory.
Viseth Tan’s memory will live on through the quiet strength and kindness he embodied, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
