Viron Pocoli Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Viron Pocoli, age 86 of Methuen and formerly of Albania passed away at the Holy Family Hospital on February 28, 2017. Viron was born in Permet, Albania on July 20, 1930 to the late Andon and Julia (Kocollari) Pocoli. He was a graduate of the University of Tirana, where he earned a degree in constructional engineering. Viron was the Chief Engineer of the only National Albanian Seaport Construction Company for 25 years. He constructed over 4 civil and strategic navy seaports of the country and constructed the communications tower for the international airport of Tirana. He also built the basketball arena, the Olympic size pool, the train station, a large numbers of apartment buildings and other important objects in his city of Durres, Albania. At the end of his career, Viron was the supervisor for over 30 engineers. At retirement Viron was a very devoted family man who enjoyed gardening and working on various home improvement projects with his sons, and above all caring for his grand daughters and grandsons. Viron was the beloved husband of Erjeta (Tolka) Pocoli. He was devoted father of Renato Pocoli and his wife Denise of Methuen, and Chris Pocoli and his wife Eda of Methuen. He was the loving grandfather of Nancy, Angelo, Dietmar, Klea, and Anthony. Viron was the dear brother of Liliana Dhimitri of Tirana, Albania, and Greta Cullufe of Permet, Albania. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends and guests are invited to call on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 71 Chandler Rd. Andover.
