Vincent G. LeGendre's Obituary
Vincent G. LeGendre of Osterville, MA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the age of 81. Vin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His quick wit, legendary storytelling and love for his family will forever be remembered.
Vinnie was born on November 3, 1941 to the late Alphonse & Marie (Desilets) LeGendre. He was raised in Lawrence, MA and attended Central Catholic High School and Wentworth Institute. Vin served honorably in the Army Reserves, he was an advertising manager for Watts Regulator, and then moved to business-to-business publications as an Advertising Representative and retired as the Publisher for ASM International.
In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing, traveling, politics but mostly spending time with family and friends. Shortly before retirement Vinnie and Jane moved from Andover to Osterville, MA to be on the cape full time. Their time with family and friends both at Sea Street beach in Dennisport, and Dowses Beach in Osterville with old and new friends was cherished.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Robert LeGendre; brother-in-law, Roland St. Pierre;and brother-in-law, Guy Gillespie.
Vinnie dedicated his life to his family and leaves behind his loving wife, Jane (Burke) LeGendre; son, Tripp LeGendre and his wife, Laura (Tilton) of Lincoln, NH; daughter, Leigh and her husband, Patrick Keefe of Andover; four beloved grandchildren, Meagan, Brenna, Patrick, and Conan Keefe; sisters, Claire St. Pierre and Ann Marie Gillespie. He also leaves behind his loyal grandpuppies, Finn (Fuzzy) and Fonzie.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Vinnie’s life by gathering for his calling hours from 1:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 12, 2023 at St. Augustine Parish, 43 Essex Street, Andover.
