Vetilio Jimenez's Obituary
Vetilio Jimenez, age 88 of Lawrence passed away on March 26, 2022 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. He was born and raised in Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic on March 14, 1934 to the late Juan Sanchez and Martina Jimenez. He migrated to Lawrence in the late 80’s.
Family is the one word that truly encompasses Vetilio. He was a loving and devoted husband. Vetilio was also a wonderful father. Leading by example, he taught his children about love, kindness, and respect by never speaking an unkind word about others. He enjoyed watching all sports but his favorite was watching baseball, especially his beloved Boston Red Sox; and also enjoyed playing dominoes.
Vetilio will be remembered as one of the good guys – a humble man, a family man, a kind and brave man, never forgetful of his roots. He enjoyed living a simple life, but anyone who sat in his presence would tell you that there was always a life lesson to be learned there. It is through those lessons and tremendous love that Vetilio’s memory will live on in those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his adored children, Arelis Jimenez and her husband, Jorge Torres, Nurys Cintron and her husband, Hector Cintron, Isor Paulino and her husband, Jesus Paulino, Rada Jimenez, and Cesar Jimenez and his wife, Lucrecia Jimenez; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Jimenez family.
