Timothy Stephen Menihane's Obituary
Timothy S. Menihane, 63, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Tim was raised in Methuen, Massachusetts, in a large and loving Irish Catholic family. He was the cherished son of the late James and Lillian (Sullivan) Menihane and grew up alongside his four sisters and two brothers, forming close bonds that remained important to him throughout his life.
A thoughtful and introspective man, Tim pursued his education at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He once aspired to the priesthood, but later chose a quieter, more private path in life.
Tim worked for many years in security, including at Holy Family Hospital and Phillips Andover. He was known for his reliability, gentle nature, and steady presence.
Though quiet by nature, Tim had a deep love for sports. He was a devoted fan of all the Boston sports team, and he especially enjoyed playing tennis.
Tim will be remembered for his calm spirit, his kind heart, and the simple life he chose to live.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Kathleen McCarthy and her husband Brian of Mashpee, MA; Eileen Nardone of Harwich, MA; James Menihane, Jr. and his wife Mary-Camille (Abdoo) of Salem, NH; Daniel Menihane of Georgetown, SC; Maureen Desfosses and her husband Donald of Plaistow, NH; and Christine Bolduc and her husband Martin of Salem, NH. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
His family is deeply grateful to the dedicated staff at Andover Manor for the attentive and compassionate care they provided, as well as Compassus for their kindness and support during his final days.
At the request of the family, burial and service will be private.
Memorials in Tim’s name can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 n. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601 or visit www..alz.org
