Theresa I. Socia's Obituary
Theresa I. Socia, 93 of Lawrence, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife for over 50 years of the late Donald J. Socia.
Born in Lawrence on September 28, 1925, Theresa was the daughter of Philias and Heloise Ginchereau. She graduated from St. Anne’s High School in Lawrence and worked as an assembler for Western Electric and then for the Raytheon Company until her retirement. Theresa enjoyed bicycling and reading. She was the youngest and last surviving of 18 siblings.
Theresa will be deeply missed by her 4 sons, Ronald Socia of Virginia, Michael Socia and his wife, Carol of Lawrence, Kenneth Socia and his long-time companion, Lori of Kittery, ME, and Steven Socia of Methuen; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Theresa’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
