Steven T. Ward's Obituary
Steven T. Ward, 72, of Haverhill, formerly of Methuen, son of Balwina (Wasylak) Ward and the late Thomas N. Ward, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family.
Steven was born in Lawrence on December 18, 1948 and lived in Methuen most of his life. He attended Methuen schools and the Oliver School in Lawrence.
Steven worked as a janitor for many years at Gibson Motor Company in Lawrence, and later at P-T Container of Haverhill. He made friends easily and people loved his outgoing personality. Steven was known for his encouraging comments to people, like telling someone: “You’re doing a good job.”
He made people smile. He was definitely a people person. Steven loved swimming and fishing at his beloved Forest Lake home. Wonderful memories were made there that will live on forever. He enjoyed bowling and roller skating in his younger years, and vacationing with his family each summer in York Beach Maine. He also looked forward to going to the Topsfield Fair each fall.
Fishing and animal shows were his favorite T.V. shows, especially Shark Week! He loved family gatherings, weddings and parties and being around his family and friends, and the company of his house mates at his group home, Westgate, (Fidelity House) in Haverhill.
Steven is survived by his mother, Balwina (Wasylak) Ward, his sister Patricia and her husband Martin Gosselin, niece Carrie Wieland, nephew Charles Clark and his girlfriend Heidi Holmes, Grandniece Valayna Wieland and Grandnephew Matthew Wieland. One aunt, Marilyn Wasylak and several cousins and friends. Steven was pre-deceased by his grandniece Valerie Ella Wieland.
