My Mother was like the energizer bunny, never stopped doing, giving, creating, helping, teaching, sharing and LOVING! She raised 5 children seemingly effortlessly. Driving us from dancing to skating, to horse lessons, Cedardale summer swim, and everything in between. She led La Leche mother’s meetings in her home for over 15 years, helping countless woman become confident mothers. She chose opportunities for her sons like, summer bike trips in Vermont, semester at Sea, semester in the Rockies, or study abroad….. she helped her children to choose high schools and colleges based on their unique interests, became an expert on this process, and often helped others to navigate these increasingly complex application processes. She loved teaching school where she would play the piano and teach Playwright songs to her students; but she left teaching to help her husband's professional field. Through her decades of work for the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society, she ran yearly continuing education seminars for hundreds of doctors, became a legislative watchdog, used her writing and executive skills to help steer the busy doctors in the right direction. While my mom prefers to have a cup of tea and a good book by the fire, she worked many long hours, starting her day in the early morning before getting us off to school. One friend remembered that "your mom always had the breakfast table set the night before" this was absolutely true! Part of her success was how organized she was and how she could think ahead. I will forever be grateful to my beautiful and capable mother for taking me to horse shows, allowing me to attend summer camps, sewing dance costumes and always making it
look easy. A sign sits on mom's pie safe, that was given to her by my sister; ‘Dear Mom, I get it now!’
I could write for days listing everything Sandy Perrault did for her children, grandchildren, community and friends; but I will leave these few words here that I could pull together between tears. Dear Mom, Alexandra and I will miss our daily visits, our family Dinner with our beloved Mai, and most of all we will miss your loving smile, warm advice and never ending generosity!
