Saddened to hear of Ruth's recent death. My father, Herbert Hatem was a school friend of the Most Reverend William McNaughton and through the years our family spent many times around the dining room table with both Ruth and the Bishop. Ruth always had a smile on her face, showed her kindness to one and all and shared many stories of her recent adventures and family stories during their visits.
Our family have spent times with a number of both the McCloud and L'Italien family in our times at St. Augustine's school and the Hemingway Street neighborhood where we grew up.
It is hard to lose such an important person in our lives but I hope that the memories of Ruth will provide laughter and comfort to you all.
