Ruben Gines' Obituary
Ruben Gines, 91, of Methuen, for longtime resident of Puerto Rico, passed away on November 26, 2020 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. He was born on January 9, 1929 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Miguel Gines and Carmita Vazquez. Ruben proudly served during the Korean Conflict for duty on the Panama Canal with the US Army. After his honorable service, he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, Class of 1953. Ruben worked as an accountant for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement.
Ruben enjoyed many of life’s pleasures; he was a devoted Patriots and Red Sox Fan, spending time with his family, and coin and stamp collecting. He was a member of the Lawrence Evangelical Church and the American Legion. Ruben touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved, cherished and missed by all.
Ruben is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Nieves Gines, of Methuen with who shared 63 years of marriage together. He was the dear father to his four children; his daughter Rosa Ines Munoz of Methuen, his daughter Glorimel Feliciano and her husband Raul of Florida, his daughter Wanda Gines and his son Ruben Gines Jr, both of Methuen. Ruben was the proud grandfather to Nelson Medina, Glorilmarie Feliciano, Mirakel Mayoral-Goodwin and Raul Feliciano Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Pablo Gines, Manuel Gines, Hector Gines, Rafeal Gines, and Hilda Gines.
Visitation for Ruben will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Veteran’s Section in the Bellevue Cemetery, 170 May Street, Lawrence. Due to the ongoing global pandemic and government regulations, facial coverings must be worn to attend the calling hours, funeral service and interment. Social distancing must be observed. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ruben’s memory to the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832. The Kenneth H.
