Roger J. Picard's Obituary
Roger J. Picard, age 78 passed away on March 3, 2019. Roger was born in Notre Dame, Dulac, Quebec, Canada on May 21, 1940 to the late Wilfred and Oliva (Berube) Picard. He was a longtime forklift operator at Malden Mills and worked as a lumberjack in both Canada and Maine. Roger enjoyed landscaping, gardening and watching western movies. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Roger will be remembered as a very kind, generous person who was always willing to help others.
Roger was the beloved husband of Reine Marie Picard with whom he shared 27 years of marriage and the late Pierrette (Dumont) Picard. He was the devoted father of Susan McRae and her partner Dyran Hanscome, Robert Picard, and the devoted stepfather of Guy Lavoie and his partner Kerry and Francis Lavoie and his wife Sheri and the late Norman Lavoie. Roger was the loving grandfather of 14 and the cherished great-grandfather of 11.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 9:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish of Methuen. Per the family’s request, interment will be private.
