Roger J. Bergeron's Obituary
Roger J. Bergeron, 79 of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2019 in Boston surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. High school sweetheart and husband of Jean M. (Campiola) Bergeron for 59 years, he was born in Lawrence to Louis Phillipe and Cecile (Turcotte) Bergeron.
Roger graduated from Lawrence High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Merrimack College in North Andover. He proudly served his country in the National Guard as a member of the 26th Yankee Division. Roger was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Dracut where he sang in the choir. He also belonged to several local chorus groups, including the Spindle City Singers of Lowell. He was an avid reader and a popular member of his local gym. Everyone there knew him and would seek him out for a quick chat or advice on life. Most of all, his greatest joy and mission was providing unconditional love and support to his family. He loved spending time teaching, laughing, and learning with them, especially his grandchildren.
Roger will be deeply missed by his wife, Jean; three children, Paul Bergeron and his wife, Senada of West Roxbury, Peter Bergeron and his wife, Michelle of Haverhill, and Danielle Fitzgerald and her husband, Geoffrey of Hopkinton, NH; eight grandchildren, Samuel, Alexander, and Daniel Bergeron, Nicholas and William Bergeron, and Amelia, Garrett, and Anthony Fitzgerald; two sisters, Yvette Bergeron of Canada and Carol Bergeron and her husband, Yvon of Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
