Robert "Bobby" T. Deshaies Sr.'s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Timothy Deshaies Sr. (Bobby) of Lawrence, MA, announce his passing on October 19, 2021 at the age of 66. Bobby was born on December 25, 1954, to the late Wilfred Sr. And Christina (O’Neill) Deshaies. Bobby was a United States Marine who served in the 1970s, a member of the Methuen V.F.W. Post 8349, and the Arlington Club. He was a self-employed independent contractor before retiring and was also an avid animal lover and loved his cats, Bobcat and Gizzy. In his younger years Bobby loved to go deep sea fishing and camping.
Everyone who knew Bobby loved him. The way he died was just like the way he lived: he wrote his own rules, he paved his own way, and if you said he couldn’t do it, he’d make sure he could. He worshipped his mother Christina, a character in her own right, and his sister and brother. He loved to cook and thought he was very fortunate so he cooked for the homeless whenever he could. There was nothing Bobby liked better than an interesting conversation with a good friend. As a child to cheer up his mother, Bobby and his sister would put on a type of Vaudeville show. He was just that kind of guy, generous to a fault. Bobby will be missed but not forgotten.
Bobby will be remembered by his children Kristin Rae and her husband Roy Ruiz, his son Robert Deshaies Jr and his wife Kathryn, and his daughter Shanna Chasse and her husband Ryan. He will also be remembered by his sister, whom he adored, Eileen Arsenault and her fiancé Dennis Salois Sr. and his brother, the late Wilfred Deshaies Jr. and his surviving wife Jacqueline. Bobby was a loving grandfather to Andrew, Isabella, RJ, Sebastian, Julianna, Santiago, Skyla, Aricin and Nyah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply and is predeceased by his brother-in-law Don J Arsenault Sr.
