Robert F. Cushman's Obituary
Robert “Bob” F. Cushman, 72, of North Andover, MA, passed away on Thursday October 10, 2024, at Cedar View Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, in Methuen, MA, with his family by his side.
Born in South Boston, MA, Robert was the son of the late George and Mary (Dineen) Cushman. He was a graduate of Gate of Heaven High School, Class of 1969 and earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Boston State College.
Bob was a United States Army Veteran. An avid movie lover, there wasn’t a movie Bob hadn’t seen. He loved spending time with his family talking about movies, playing cards, chess and just being together. He was a good-natured, gentle soul who enjoyed his life. Bob was a devoted father and the fun uncle! Bob was very proud of his sons and his grandchildren. He was both kind and funny, and never missed the opportunity to crack a joke. Later in life, he earned the title of “Grandpa” which he thoroughly enjoyed. He always jumped at the chance to have his Sunday morning coffee and donuts with his girls.
Bob will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons, Ryan Cushman and his wife, Michele of Methuen, MA, Colin Cushman and his wife, Robin of Manchester, NH, grandchildren, Lily, Gabriella, Brady, and Logan, brothers, George Cushman and his wife, Kathy of Rockland, MA, John Cushman of Sicily, sisters, Kathleen Boyle and her husband, Kevin of North Hampton, NH, Eileen Cushman of North Hampton, NH, brother, John Dineen and his wife, Jill of Marshfield, MA, partner of more than twenty years, Maria Cipriani of North Andover, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Maureen Malaney and his best friend, John Carey.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert on Friday October 18, 2024, at 11:00 am, in St. Lucy’s Parish, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen, MA. Guests are asked to meet directly at church.
