Robert "Bob" J Blacker's Obituary
Robert “Bob” James Blacker, 90, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Charlestown, MA, Bob was the son of the late John and Ann (Clarke) Blacker. A proud patriot, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and remained a dedicated reservist for many years after.
Following his military service, Bob built a successful career in management with both the Oster and Sunbeam companies. In 1985, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish BoJo Clipper Service, a blade-sharpening business he operated with his wife, Joanne until his retirement.
Bob was a man of many interests and simple joys. He enjoyed good movies, card games with friends and family, caring for his special dogs, and keeping a tidy and well-loved yard. He especially cherished winters spent in Florida and many memorable cruise vacations with loved ones.
Bob is remembered most as a kind and steady presence—a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Joanne (Markuson) Blacker, and a legacy of family and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Mass for Bob at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. Burial will be private at his family’s request.
The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Blacker family.
