Rita Palmieri's Obituary
Miss Rita Palmieri 98, died early on November 16 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center after a long illness.
Born in Lawrence Mass on August 10, 1919, she was a resident of that community for many years before moving to Methuen. She attended Corpus Christi Parish. She graduated from Lawrence High School and worked as a supervisor for the Bolta Company and the Lawrence Companies from whence she retired. For the past 12 years, she was a resident of the Mary Immaculate Assisted Living and Nursing Center. She was a member of the resident’s board at that facility and operated the community store for many years. She was a very active and participated in many of the social activities at Mary Immaculate including occasional trips to Foxwoods.
Miss Palmieri loved to travel and do so extensively to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and throughout the United States.
Surviving her are her nephew Robert Gioseffi, his wife Gloria of North Andover, Mass, nephew Walter Hill of Arkansas, her godchild Janet Seeley and her husband Asa of Stoneham, Mass as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Monday, August 20, 2017 from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary Parish of Lawrence. Interment to follow at Bellevue Cemetery of Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St. Lawrence, MA 01843.
