Rita M. O'Connor's Obituary
Lawrence – Rita M. O’Connor, 101, of Lawrence, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence.
Rita was born in Lawrence on February 4, 1919 and was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (O’Connor) O’Connor. She graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1937. She worked as an Executive Assistant with the Essex County Registry of Deeds in Lawrence until her retirement in 1985. Rita was a member of the White Glove Set and the St. Clare League of Catholic Women. She loved to play cards with family and friends.
Rita will be deeply missed by her sister, Sr. Elizabeth O’Connor SND and her devoted friend, Mrs. Connie Choquette. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, relatives and many friends with whom she spent many wonderful times. She will be sorely missed for her kind and loving ways and positive outlook. She had a heart of gold and was beloved by all. She was also the doting grand-aunt to several grandnieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Helen Flynn, John O’Connor, Elizabeth McKenna, Marguerite Noonan, Rev Joseph X O’Connor OSA, and Rev. J. Francis O’Connor.
Due to the current pandemic, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame 30 Jeffrey’s Neck Road, Ipswich, MA 01938 or Mary Immaculate Health/Care Services, 172 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
