Rita M. Chahanovich's Obituary
Rita M. (Buglione) Chahanovich, 91, of Salem, NH, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen with her loving family by her side.
She was born on November 13, 1930 in Lawrence, MA to the late Joseph and Mary (Larantonda) Buglione.
Raised and educated in Lawrence. She was dedicated to her family, and her loved ones. Rita worked at Honeywell as an inspector for over twenty years and later went to work at Market Basket as a bakery clerk for over 27 years until her retirement at the age of 85. She also enjoyed reading biographies, dancing, traveling, going to Foxwoods Casino, playing “Let it Ride” card game, and spending as much time possible with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Georgianna; son, Michael; and her siblings, Anthony, Madeline, and Nancy.
Rita will be deeply missed by her loving partner of 30 years, Frank Rubino of Haverhill, MA; daughter, Jean Sullivan and her husband, Douglas of Lake worth, FL; son, Robert Chahanovich. Her adored grandchildren, Lisa, Kenneth, Rickielee, Courtney, Amanda, and Tamara; her cherished great-grandchildren, Ryan, Nickolas, Joseph, Annabella, Anthony, Michael, Jacob, Raelynn, and Kyle. In addition, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial beginning promptly at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Parish, 40 Main Street in Salem, NH. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Chahanovich.
