Richard Michael Slomba
2/15/2025
Richard “Dick” Michael Slomba, born on September 19, 1939, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life full of love, dedication, and gratitude.
Dick was the kind of person who never met a day he didn’t approach with a smile. He radiated happiness and lived each moment with a deep appreciation for the people and experiences around him. Whether he was spending time with family, sharing a laugh, or enjoying his favorite hobbies, Dick’s upbeat nature was a constant source of light to all who knew him.
A devoted husband, Dick shared a deep, loving bond with his wife of 62 years, Pamela Slomba. He was a proud father to his children, Scott Slomba and Kimberly Bubnowicz, and an adoring Papa to his six grandchildren- Kaitlyn, Sarah, Ashley, Keegan, Savannah, and Isabel. He is also survived by his brother, Edward Slomba, and Edward’s wife, Mary Slomba. Dick’s love for his family was the center of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
After graduating from Tenney High School in Methuen, Dick proudly served in the U.S. Navy, followed by a 31-year career as a UPS driver and as a proud member of the Teamsters Union.
In retirement, Dick embraced the snowbird lifestyle, splitting his time between the sunny warmth of Florida and his home in Massachusetts. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Punta Gorda and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Methuen. He found immense joy in his passion for remote-controlled “RC” airplanes, becoming an active member of RC clubs both in Massachusetts and Florida. Through these hobbies, he was able to connect with a community of like-minded individuals who shared his passion for flying.
Above all, Dick’s life was defined by his gratitude. He was grateful for every day, for every laugh, and for every opportunity to be with his loved ones. His positive spirit and unshakable joy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Dick by attending his calling hours on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9 – 11 AM at the Kenneth H.
