Richard A. Morel Sr.'s Obituary
Richard A. Morel, Sr., 62 of Methuen, passed away on October 29, 2018 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Michele Morel, to whom he was married for 30 years.
Born in Norwich, CT on May 5, 1956, he was the son of the late Roger Morel, Sr. and Theresa (Hamel) Morel. Richard worked as a supervisor for Ferrous Technologies, Inc. in Lawrence for over 30 years. He then worked as a warehouse supervisor at Patriot Hardwood Flooring in Wilmington for 10 years. He then worked as a building maintenance supervisor at JCC in Newton, MA for 4 years. Richard was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He was able to see the Red Sox win the World Series 4 times. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Richard will be deeply missed by his wife, Michele; 5 children, Melissa Morel of Florida, Maureen Brake of Methuen, Richard A. Morel, Jr. and his wife, Devon, of Atkinson, NH, Mary Recchia of Florida, and Pamela Morel of Kentucky; 4 siblings, Roger Morel, Sr. and his wife, Janet, of Florida, Irene Alton and her husband, Phil, of Westford, Lucille Schuldt-Morel of Tennessee, and Robert Morel and his wife, Jo-Ann, of Dracut; 20 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Richard’s life by gathering for his calling hours on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. His funeral service will take place at 9 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
