Richard H. Melucci's Obituary
RICHARD H. MELUCCI, 84, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on September 29, 2022 with loving family members by his side.
He was born and educated in Lawrence, son of the late Cosmo Joseph and Dorothy (Wright) Melucci. A resident of Methuen for the past several years, he was also a longtime resident of Atkinson, NH.
Second only to the love he had for his family, was his passion for vehicles; Motorcycles, classic cars, and heavy equipment. He was the owner of Melucci Paving & Construction for many years and was always most comfortable high up in the driver’s seat of a piece of construction equipment. An “Ace” on a Bobcat, he brought about many a skipped heartbeat from family members when he would (always successfully) attempt another trick move on that piece of machinery.
Dickie was also an accomplished cook. Like his father before him, utilizing whatever food supplies he had on hand, and with generosity of heart, he could prepare a delicious meal for even unexpected guests.
Dickie will be sadly missed by; his loving wife and caretaker, Athena (Felides) Melucci, his children, Susan and son- in-law David Saindon, son Martin Melucci, stepdaughter Paula and her husband Anthony Covino, grandchildren, Liam, Evan, Mia, Martin, Julian, great-grandson Kingston, his sisters, Barbara Cook, and Mary Lou Curtin, his brothers, C. Joseph Melucci and wife Dianne, and David Melucci and wife Linda.
He was predeceased by his previous wife, Jeanne (Quinlan) Melucci, his sister Dorothy (Melucci) Quinlan, and his close pal "Billy Boy" Felides.
Services will be private and there will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dickie’s name to the “Make a Wish Foundation”.
