Richard "Dick" McCarron's Obituary
Richard (Dick) McCarron, 80, of Haverhill passed away peacefully at Penacook Place in Haverhill on December 22, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Methuen, he was the son of the late Richard and Margaret McCarron. He graduated from Tenney High School and attended Trinity College in Colorado. He served in the US Army Reserves with an honorable discharge. He worked at Indian Ridge Country Club for many years.
He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball at the Hayden Schofield Playstead in Lawrence. His favorite spots to vacation with his family were Rye Beach and Cape Cod. He could also be seen hanging with friends at Rockingham Park and Seabrook Racetrack. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching all the Boston sports teams. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their sporting and school events.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, of 37 years, his stepdaughters Donna Melia and husband Jerry, Laurie James and husband William, his grandchildren whom he adored, Devin, Megan, Erica and Brock, his sister Patricia O’Neil and her husband Daniel, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen.
