Richard "Jerry" G. Kane's Obituary
Richard “Jerry” G. Kane, 83, of Haverhill, passed away at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on January 12, 2018 surrounded by his devoted family. He was born on August 10, 1934 in Lawrence, MA to his late parents, James and Mary (Westwell) Kane. Raised and educated in Lawrence, Jerry graduated with the Class of 1952 from Lawrence High School. A US Army veteran, he married his sweetheart in 1956, and settled in Haverhill to raise his family. Jerry worked as a tester for Lucent Technologies until his retirement. A devoted outdoorsman and avid Boston sport fanatic, he loved water and snow skiing, hiking, biking and canoeing. Jerry was the patriarch of his family and was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. Jerry touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved, cherished, and missed by all.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Condon) Kane and his two daughters; Paula Viens and her fiancé David Desharnais, and Robyn Kane-Martin and her husband Ed, all of Haverhill. He was the cherished grandfather to Brittany Viens, also of Haverhill. Jerry is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; James Kane, Rita Ard and Irene Kattar.
