Richard G. Coughlin's Obituary
Richard G. Coughlin, age 79 of Methuen passed away on April 30, 2022 at the Lahey Clinic surrounded by his loving daughters and sisters. Richard was born in Methuen on April 18, 1943 to the late Richard and Katherine (Kelleher) Coughlin. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, and attended Merrimack College. Richard enjoyed watching sports and horse racing, and spending time with his friends. He loved and took deep pride in his role as a transportation driver for children with special needs.
Richard was the devoted father of Karen Bush and her husband John Jr., Kerri Stearns, and the late Christopher Coughlin (Trisha). He was the dear brother of Caroline Santry and her husband Tim, Kathleen Coughlin, and the late Jeremiah Coughlin. Richard was the loving grandfather of John Bush III, Kasey Bush, Christopher Alvarado and his fiancé Gaby, Allan Stearns Jr., Arthur Stearns, Christopher Coughlin Jr., and Ryan Coughlin. Richard was the cherished great-grandfather of Illiana Alvarado. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place following calling hours, beginning promptly at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence St. Methuen.
