To Paula Balcius I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I only learned of this today otherwise I would have reached out sooner. If his daughter's character, sense of humor, and intelligence are any indication of who Dick was, he was an amazing man. I'm sorry I never met him. My condolences.

Claire and family, my sincere condolences go out to you.. My husband, Claire, Dick, and I were really good friends over many years. So close that their kids called us Aunt and Uncle and vice versa.
Dick was a kind generous man, he selfishly flew to Florida to help me drive my sick husband back to Salem, NH. I will always be grateful for that and MANY other things.
I am going to miss my political buddy, we solved many world problems and had fun doing it. We outtalked each other at times. Luckily we were on the same page.
