Rene Joseph Dumont Jr.'s Obituary
Rene Joseph Dumont, Jr., 57, of Hampstead, NH longtime resident of Methuen, MA and Salem, NH, passed away on Saturday April 20, 2024, at Brigham & Women's Hospital.
Born and raised in Methuen, he was the son of Marie (Goulet) Dumont and the late Rene J. Dumont, Sr., and was a graduate of the Greater Lawrence Technical School, Class of 1984.
Rene was a humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a hard worker and jack of all trades, and family and friends often called on him for assistance. One of his passions was cooking, and he enjoyed sharing his creations with others. He was proud of his French Canadian heritage, and loved the sport of hockey, both as a player and a spectator. Above all, Rene will be remembered as a caring person who was always willing to go out of his way to help others, often without ever being asked.
Family was paramount to him; he was incredibbly proud of his children, and one of the greatest joys in his life was becoming a Pepere to his granddaughters.
Rene will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Rene T. Dumont and his wife, Christine of N. Andover, MA, daughter, Chantalle Dumont and her boyfriend, Matt Denison of Andover, MA, son, Jacob Dumont of Dover, NH, siblings, Deborah Dumais and her husband, Brian of Deerfield, NH, Brenda Ventrillo of Derry, NH, Brigitte Munoz and her husband, Julio of Methuen, MA, Jessie Dumont of Derry, NH, granddaughters, Justina and Julia Dumont, and many nieces and nephews. Rene was predeceased by his son Joshua and his brother Wayne Dumont. He is also survived by Debra (Faucher) Dumont.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday April 24, 2024, from 5 pm to 8 pm, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday April 25, 2024, at 11:00 am, in St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
