Reina (Cote) Parks' Obituary
Reina (Cote) Parks, 89, of Lawrence, passed away on March 20, 2018 at the High Point House in Haverhill surrounded by her devoted family. Born on June 26, 1928 to her hardworking parents, the late Eli and Lumina (Blanchette) Cote in Lawrence, she graduated from Lawrence High School. A lifelong devoted Catholic, she married her beloved sweetheart, Gordon D. Parks Sr, in a simple ceremony in 1953 at St. Ann’s in Lawrence. Reina was devoted to her family, especially visits and facetiming great-grandchildren. As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, country music, and she also was a member of the Central Catholic Ladies League. She worked for several years at Sylvania in Danvers and worked as a crossing guard as well. Reina was always very generous and selfless, volunteering many hours at the Immaculate Conception Nursing Home, where she also made many friends. She touched many lives and will fondly be loved, cherished, and missed by all.
Reina is survived by her seven children; her daughter, R. Elaine Teoli and her husband Don of NH, her son, Gordon D. Parks Jr and his wife Denise of NH, her daughter, Susan B. McCormick and her husband Richard of MA, her daughter Nancy L. Parks-Smith of Maine, her son, Thomas D. Parks Sr. of SC, her daughter, Jean J. Beauchesne of WI, and her son P. David Parks of FL. She was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother to her 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Reina was the beloved sister to her two brothers, Robert Cote of MA and Joseph Cote of NH. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Reina was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon D. Parks Sr in 2002 with whom she celebrated nearly 5 decades of marriage and her sister Georgette Cross.
Visitation for Reina will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment to follow at St Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker St, Lawrence, MA.
