Raymond M. Checovich's Obituary
Raymond M. Checovich, 72, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Wednesday, March 25th at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence surrounded by loving family. Raymond was born in Lawrence, MA to Peter and Cecile (Bedard) Checovich.
He was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1973. Ray worked as a store keeper at Raytheon, which he retired from after 43 years. Raymond had a heart of gold and deeply loved and cared for the people in his life, especially his nieces and nephews. A lifelong Beatles fan, he enjoyed racing slot cars, working out at Cedardale, and spending time with his family.
Raymond is survived by his siblings, Irene Bourbeau of Mountain View, CA, Julia Caron of Methuen, and Michael P. Checovich and his wife, Alis of Dracut. In addition, he also leaves behind several nieces and nephews- Brian and Susan Caron of Windham, NH, Nicole and Jason Settineri of Lee, NH, Andrea and Brian Hayes of Kingston, NH and Mikey Checovich of Dracut, MA. He also leaves behind his beloved great nieces and nephews- Joe, Claudia, Anthony, Hailey, Abby and Brady.
Raymond also leaves behind a handful of friends who he loved like family.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Raymond’s life during calling hours from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, Massachusetts. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
