I met Rachel when I was fresh out of high school. The credit bureau was my first job. She was my mentor. She taught me to have a good, honest work ethic and she taught me the ropes. We had many laughs and discussions. She gave me good advice when I was having a hard time. I have MANY good memories but I'm going to share a quick funny one. One morning she came into work when we were on Essex Street in Lawrence. We said good morning to each other. I looked down at her feet. I said to her, "Is there anything strange about you outfit today?" She replied, "No why? Do I look ok?" I said "Yes, you look fine but take a look down at your feet.". She looked down, and we started laughing. She had an infectious laugh that I will always remember. Turns out, she didn't want to wake Tommy that morning so she got dressed in the darkened room. She came to work with one blue pump and one brown pump on. We always talked about that one for years to come. Family was #1 to Rachel. She held them closest to her heart. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Her beautiful blue eyes sparkled when she talked about them and their accomplishments. She also loved Tommy to pieces. I will miss her even though I haven't seen her for quite some time but knowing that I will never see her again hurts.
My deepest and sincerest sympathy goes out to all of you. I hope all the warm memories you have, (and I know there are a lot) will comfort all of you as you embrace each other.
Rachel was a very strong woman and I'm sure she passed that down to you. To Tommy, I'm so sorry. Your kids will surround you with love.
I love you all
