Paula Hannagan's Obituary
Paula (Myers) Hannagan, 84, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at her home.
Born on April 2, 1942, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Paula was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence and Anna Myers. She was raised in South Lawrence and graduated from St. Patrick High School in Lawrence. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Northeastern University in Boston. Paula dedicated thirty-six years of her professional life to serving as a social worker with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), where her compassion and commitment made a lasting difference in the lives of countless children and families. She retired with a deep sense of fulfillment from a career defined by service to others.
Paula found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished animals, embraced the beauty of nature, and looked forward each year to her cherished summers spent at Newfound Lake, where she created many lasting memories.
She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter, Tracey Hannagan DoRosario, and her husband, Amardi; her son, Michael Hannagan; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Hannagan; her grandchildren, Danielle Chivers and her husband, John, and Corey Hannagan; her great-grandchildren, Angeliah and Johnny Chivers; her best friend, Linda Hollins; and her beloved canine companions, Austin and Hailey, and Wally and Lucy, who she called her “trupanions” and who brought her endless affection and comfort.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Paula’s life during calling hours from 2 PM to 4 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 and from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 both at Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
