Patricia Mary Lahan's Obituary
Patricia Mary (Finn) Lahan passed away peacefully on February 7 at the age of 101 years.
Pat was born in Lowell, MA to Patrick Henry and Delia Gertrude (Roarke) Finn. She graduated from St Patrick's (Lowell) High School in 1938. In high school, she was a member of the debate team, eventually serving as Captain, and was a founding member of the St. Rita's Cadets, where she played trumpet. Her love of the theater was born during her high school years, and she had many wonderful memories of performing in a number of productions, culminating in her role as Ko-Ko in Gilbert and Sullivan’s opera, The Mikado.
For most of her working years, Patricia was a legal secretary, and for a number of years served on the Board of the Legal Secretaries Club of Greater Lawrence, as well as being active in her church and community. She was a member, and for several years served as president of the Saint Monica's Ladies Sodality, and in recent years she was active in the Red Hat Society, and the Saint Claire's League, where she served on the Board of Directors. For a long time she was an energetic regular at the Methuen Senior Citizens Center fitness activities. Whether at home or in the community, she will be remembered as a warm, generous, and humor-filled mentor to so many.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents and siblings, and her beloved husband, John T. Lahan, who she married in 1942. She will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude by her five children, John J. Lahan, and his wife, Nadine, P. Michael Lahan, and his wife Carol, Brian Lahan, MaryGail Lahan, and Tricia Knightly, and her husband Vincent, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The Lahan Family wishes to thank the staff of Methuen Village for their kind and generous service to Patricia over the past three years, and to Hospice Services of Massachusetts for their devotion and excellent care.
