Noreen P. Amiss' Obituary
Noreen P. (Martin) Amiss, 85, of Methuen, MA, passed away at home on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Mary C. (Donahue) Martin. After graduating from Lawrence High School, Noreen worked for several companies before retiring from Brockway-Smith in 2000. She volunteered her time as a “cuddler” at Lawrence General Hospital Special Care Nursery.
Noreen enjoyed spending vacations with her family at Salisbury Beach and Rangley, Maine, and working in her yard. She was an avid reader and loved going to the movies.
She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Soucie.
Noreen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Mary C. Quinn and her husband, Kevin J. of Methuen, Elizabeth J. Gomes and her husband, Lance of Haverhill, MA; sister, Sheila M. Geisler and her husband, Paul of Lawrence; brother, Willam H. Martin, Jr., and his wife, Theresa of Salem, NH; “favorite” grandchildren, Laura A. and Christopher K. Quinn, Alexander I. and Megan E. Gomes; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. A Graveside Service for Noreen will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. Please kindly meet directly at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Noreen’s memory can be made to Lawrence General Hospital Special Care Nursery.
