Nancy G. Charest's Obituary
Nancy G. (Lescarbeau) Charest, 66, of Methuen, passed away peacefully at the High Pointe House, Merrimack Valley Hospice, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, on May 31, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
She was born Dec. 23, 1955, in Clinton, Mass., the daughter of Estelle Y. Taylor of Sandown, N.H. and the late Richard B. Lescarbeau.
She and her husband David would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on June 4.
She worked as a tax specialist at Avid Tech. in Burlington for 24 years. Previously, she was a tax specialist for Computervision Corp. for 5 years and a tax accountant for AGFA Corp. in Wilmington for 5 years. She was a graduate of Tenney High School, Methuen, Class of 1973, attended Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, where she studied accounting, and Southern New Hampshire University, where she graduated with an Associate’s degree in computer science.
The White Mountains always were a special place for her, and she and her family enjoyed many trips in their younger years to Totem Pole Park in Freedom, later to their vacation home in Mountview Community in Freedom, and then their seasonal home in Wakefield. She enjoyed many scenic cruises on Ossipee Lake with her husband at the helm. In recent years, she and her husband would celebrate their June anniversary with a stay at a bed and breakfast somewhere in New England (Their latest trip was already booked to Vermont.), and their daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters would accompany them to an annual getaway to a lodge in the Woodstock area and yearly visit to Storyland or Santa’s Village. She was a doting grandmother whose family always came first.
She was a tireless advocate on her own behalf, spending countless hours researching her illness, seeking advice from fellow patients, talking to medical professionals and understanding as much as she could about her condition. She was first diagnosed in November 2019. She became an expert in treatment for multiple myeloma and actively advocated on her own behalf for stem cell treatment and the latest medications. Much more importantly, she became an expert in living her life to the fullest while having the disease.
Family members include, in addition to her mother, her husband, David F. Charest of Methuen; daughter, Amanda L. Robichaud and husband David of East Hampstead, N.H.; granddaughters, Tatum, Riley and Logan Robichaud, all of East Hampstead, N.H.; sisters, Judi Lescarbeau of Sandown, N.H., and Jayne Borzi of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; brother, Richard A.
