Nancy P. Boucher's Obituary
Mrs. Nancy P (Buggea) Boucher passed away peacefully and in comfort on March 3rd, 2022 in North Andover.
Born on February 19, 1934 and raised in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rosa (Petralia) Buggea. She attended Saint Mary’s Grammar School in Lawrence and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1951.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Fred Boucher, Jr., who passed away in 2016, and with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. While her children were growing up, she worked as an assembler at Western Electric in North Andover. After obtaining her secretarial skills, she worked for numerous doctors in the area and lastly became the head probation clerk at the Lawrence District Court, where she served from 1971 until her retirement in 1999.
Nancy’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her family for social events. She had many close friends in the Methuen area. Collectively known as “the girls,” for many years they faithfully met each week for dinner and Manhattans, and each winter hit the beaches of Jupiter, FL. Nancy had a lifelong love of the ocean and would often be found on the beach at Seabrook or Salisbury, working on her tan and collecting shells and sea glass.
Nancy was formerly a member of the Mount Carmel and St. Lucy’s Parishes in Methuen, MA.
Nancy will be greatly missed by her four sons, Fred Boucher III and his wife Mary of North Andover, Dennis Boucher and his wife Sara of Windham, NH, Michael Boucher and his partner Niece Haynes of Andover, and David Boucher and his wife Mary Ann of Methuen; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and her sister Jenny Podbielski.
Nancy’s family is very grateful for and would like to acknowledge the excellent care and companionship that she received at the Ashland Farm Assisted Living community in North Andover during the final years of her life
