Muriel E. Holden's Obituary
Muriel E. Holden, age 91 of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on November 9, 2018 at the High Pointe Hospice House. She was born in North Weymouth on September 17, 1927, to the late Haskett and Edith Blanchard. Muriel loved baking for others, reading and jigsaw puzzles. For years she worked as Vice President of Finance at Towne Trucking where she had many friends until her retirement. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School.
Muriel’s front door was always a revolving door as there was always someone stopping in to say “hello” and have a cup of coffee and something freshly baked out of the oven. Like her mother, she was a wonderful baker and cook. Later in life, she packed little baggies of goodies for not only everyone who visited her but also the trash man, recycle man, the meals on wheels man and her hair dresser, which was always appreciated.
Muriel was an amazing, strong woman who always took care of everyone else before herself. She was a true friend to many and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Muriel is survived by her three children, William Holden of South Dennis, Doris Maliszewski and her husband John of Arnold, MD, Barbara Robidoux and her husband Frank of Andover, her daughter in law, Janet Holden of Salem, NH, 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son George Holden Jr.
Friends and guests are invited to join the family for a memorial service to celebrate Muriel’s life on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. Per the family’s request, there will be no interment.
