Michael J. Quimby's Obituary
Michael J. Quimby, age 25, died suddenly at home on November 12, 2020. Michael was born in Boston, MA and raised in Methuen, MA. Michael’s bright blue eyes and infectious laugh brought joy to family and friends. He was a competitive Chess, Scrabble, Uno, and Rummy player and brought his “A” game to Wii Bowling, Pokemon Go, Call of Duty and Mario Kart. Michael loved to explore nature, amusement parks, and campgrounds in the White Mountains. He was known to enjoy fishing on Salisbury Beach and family vacations on Cape Cod.
Michael will be deeply missed by his loving parents, James Quimby Jr. and Lisa (Meagher) Quimby, and his sister, Melissa Quimby, all of Methuen. He is also survived by his grandmothers Beverly Harrington of Medford, MA, Carolyn Quimby of Holbrook, MA, and his grandfather James Quimby Sr. of Naples, FL. He is predeceased by his grandfathers William Meagher Sr. and John Collins of Newton, MA and John Harrington of Medford, MA. He will be missed by his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours for Michael will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 4-7 PM, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Michael’s family asks the donations be made in his memory to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) PO Box 49104, Baltimore, MD 21297.
