Michael P. Fielding's Obituary
Michael Fielding, 54, of Lawrence passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Born on May 15, 1965 he was the devoted son to the late Harry T. and Shirley (Carriero) Fielding. He was the beloved brother of Bruce Fielding of Andover, Brian Fielding of Lawrence, Alan Fielding and his wife Margaret of Hollis, NH, and Patty Newell and her husband John of Methuen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother Richard Fielding.
Michael grew up and resided in Lawrence his entire life. He attended Lawrence Public Schools and graduated from Greater Lawrence Technical High School with the Class of 1983. He was formerly employed by the Raytheon Company and later managed the Lawrence British Club for many years. Michael also served as the club’s president and vice-president.
Michael was elected twice to Lawrence City Council, where he was deeply respected for his compassion and tireless efforts on behalf of his constituents. He was also a past member of Raytheon Local 1505.
Michael enjoyed being in the company of his many friends. He was an avid horse enthusiast having spent many summers in his youth attending to his brother’s race horses. Michael cherished his trips to Saratoga with his brothers, Bruce and Brian, and his many friends from the Lawrence British Club.
Visitation for Michael will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 from 9 – 11 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours. In lieu of flowers, plese consider making a donation in Michael’s memory to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451. The Kenneth H.
